OOTS 457 - Elemental Fury

Isn't this a reference to Dragonlance? Remember that evil turns in on itself.

Just because she's on Xykon's side doesn't mean she's on Redcloak's side. Or this could simply be a test.

Me, I'm more and more of the opinion that Redcloak's actually the boss, not Xykon. I mean, if you had a lich servitor, wouldn't you keep his phylactery so you could ensure his compliance? And Redcloak prefers being the power behind the throne rather than the power on the throne.

For often no good reason. I hate plotlines like that :( Plus Redcloak isn't killing her for personal power; he's killing her because he doesn't like her.

Maybe Vaarsuvius can summon a Sodium Elemental to beat on this one. That will have the useful side effect of winterising the courtyard.

I'm betting either Tsukiko survives this one and serves as a foil for Redcloak in the position of "Xykon's right hand", or gets killed, comes back as an intelligent undead (maybe one of those weird Oriental Adventures ones), and does the same.

Demiurge out.

He's out of spells, remember? Hopefully he's using his Invisibility to recover Roy's body.

Besides, I think summoning a Sodium Elemental would be Redcloak's trick: remember Carthage where they destroyed the city and salted the land?

He's not killing her, so much as he's not going out of his way to prevent her from being killed. Big difference. He summoned the elemental and commanded it before he knew Tsukiko existed, remember. He might just be testing her to see if she's strong enough to be worth his time, something Xykon probably should have done.

If Redcloak absolutely wanted her dead, she'd be dead, I have no doubt. This just strikes me as a more hardcore version of what V and Belkar do to one another.
