Personally, I don't think that O-Chul survived. I'm thinking that paralysis trumps the convention of closing eyes (X's) when the character dies. Hinjo seems pretty definitive that no one could survive the blast, and is specifically talking about O-Chul when he says it.

Pshaw. Miko clearly rolls a nat 20, and she has evasion.

I'm not sure she would even need evasion, however, as O-chul survived without it. Miko is around 12th level with classes that have at least a d8 in hp if not higher. If O-chul survived (and I presume his level is equal or less than Miko's), the Miko almost certainly survived it - if only so that she can seek out the other gates to destroy them!

I somehow have a feeling that she will reason that if Xycon could not take the Azure gate, then he will seek out the other gates, and that the best way to keep him from those gates would be to destroy them as well. I wonder how far she will wander down the path of good intentions?

Wouldn't that be the complete book of Random Violence? I've played with 8-to-10 year-olds, and never have I met a more bloodthirsty lot. Like 3 little Belkars, they were.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Miko came back as the One True Emissary of the Snarl or something. She is so deranged that a monster made from the deranged ramblings of gods might suit her very well. It probably isn't quite right for her to become a Blackguard, but some homebrew "Soldier of the Snarl" PrC would be cool...
