Our DM allows us six whole words a round.

Waiting while people carefully craft those six word sentences slows down the game a lot more than actually playing by the RAW would.

Man...your...characters...must...speak...slowly.

You should bring a stopwatch to one session to give your DM a clue as to how long six seconds really is. (Assuming your DM uses the standard RAW.)
