You don't even need need new spells. I have a character based around reach feat.

So instead of a new spell, you need a non-core feat. (Yeah, Reach Spell is in the SRD but that's because its in the Divinity section. It's not in the PHB.)

From what I recall reading somewhere she's a mystic thurge.

As for the balance issue, if you're a one trick pony, or in this case, all your offensive spells are based on one saving throw type, you're going to run into trouble eventually, core or non-core.

We know she does inflict wounds as well as will save spells (Dominate person).

I know, but I was just commenting in the respect to character class balance focusing on the immediate comic where pretty much all she was throwing were spells that allowed reflex saves.

Took me about six tries to open the page, then couldn't get the comic to show. Ended up doing another five or so refreshes on the image itself.
