See, when Belkar says he owes his loyalty to the TRUE POWER in Azure City, and then throws the cat, I assumed the CAT was the power he spoke of.

Which makes me think Mr. Scruffy is something like a Cat Lord, or a polymorphed something far more powerful. Certainly not just a buffed animal familiar.

I say it's actually an Awakened Cat with class levels and WAS the real power behind Shojo the entire time. Either that or a disguised planar creature... Ohh way to introduce the Rilmani one last time before 4e takes them away. A shapeshifted Rilmani who's repsonsible for seeing that enough of the Gates remain sealed to prevent the unmaking of creation and preservation of the Great Balance.

yup. i was thinking the cat was a cleric of one of the parts of the animal mythos that shojo talked about.
