OotS #570 Is Up, Including Critical Interpretations of Burlew's Style & OotS Content

Of course what I wrote was my opinion. At the same time, it is the conclusion I came to after examining a many of Rich Burlew's incredibly common mistakes. If you want to claim that he is a good writer or at least dismiss my claim that his skills are flawed, then go back through the comic and prove me wrong. Dismissing something as an "opinion" (implying a lack of validity) is the least constructive response to someone's sentiments, and one of the least friendly.

I think the onus is very clearly on you to prove your point. I don't think you would find yourself in much company though.

I just love how all of the bitching about the "reset button" is obviated by the last two strips.

Yay, talking out of your arse before you know what's happening next! Woo!

Unless Burlew changes what happens when someone gets resurrected in this setting, then unless Julia can see Roy, and Roy realizes this and finally goes to Julia and tells her everything he's learned so that she can tell him when he's alive again, the reset button may very well still be in place.

From what they've been saying over on the forums over there, in the OotS prequels Roy's dad died multiple times and did not remember his time spent in the afterlife.

So, either Roy starts using his high INT to realize he's got to go to see if Julia can see him, or he's still not going to remember. Perhaps the Oracle's prophecy lines will stick with him because they seem to override magical and spiritual impediments to memory, but otherwise everything is gone when he gets rezzed.
