He will be helpful... he brought a scroll.

Prediction: girls use Belker's projectile vomiting as Area of Effect weapon to facilitate escape, cleric dies, but Hailey steals liberates the scroll and later makes her UMD roll after Roy golem is defeated.

NPCs always have a point... even if it is to provide the magic McGuffin the party needs to get things rolling.

Not sure that would work. The vomiting can't be an Area of Effect weapon, since the cleric didn't get half of the vomit on him when Belkar erupted. Haley has Evasion, but the cleric wouldn't.

Well, I'm sure there are domains in the oots that grant evasion. Also, there are some effects and spells that are Reflex negates instead of Reflex half. And looking at the panel again, that was definitely an area attack. Haley had to dodge, too.

Oh, wow. I JUST realized that he was talking about Haley and Celia when he said "they're in my basement." I thought he meant he had been keeping his eyes in a jar or something!
