Way to steal the kill from that poor adventuring party V. Imagine how many parties are going to gain an inordinate amount of treasure for their level without expending any resources or gaining a commensurate amount of experience points. Now that's evil. Not cool. :p

I liked the handful of half-dragons in the family; especially the half-dragon centaur.

A more cogent example would be, "Is it evil to sacrifice a few babies and some innocent bystanders if it's the best way to defeat a great evil?"

To which the answer should be, "YES."

To reference Dimitri Karamazov, "I'd have to say, 'no thank you,' and return my ticket."

If he'd gone into a dungeon with a party and killed every single one that would be ok, just because he skipped that step it means its evil? I don't think so.

On another point though Tiamat anyone?

Not if he went in and smashed up the eggs and the half-dragon-half-centaurs without finding out their alignment, it wouldn't be.

Dragons are not outsiders; a black dragon raised in a Lawful Good environment will end up Lawful Good. Therefore, a black dragon egg is an innocent. Killing innocents indiscriminately is evil, no matter who else you get with the same shot.

Oh... I don't find that rule anywhere. According to SRD black dragon is always chaotic evil and half dragons are same as their dragon parent. So by RAW, those were all evil creatures he slaid. Even the eggs.

Now there might be some setting specific changes to this, but if you're playing Eberron (or any other setting with the change) don't expect that others do.

I do recall reading in the Draconomicon that even just after they hatch, the wyrmlings are born with some of the basic knowledge of their parents. So even an unhatched black dragon probably 'knows' that Peasants = Food
