OotS #653

It's already been established that she's got the hots for him... If I can get the archive to load, I'll hunt up the comic.

When she first joined Team Evil, she explained that she loved the undead. Yes, she made it quite clear, she meant in that sense. Xykon, however, finds relations with the living disgusting and perverted. (I'm paraphrasing.)

So it makes sense that Tsukiko would have a doll to sleep with that reflected her unrequited fantasies.

Zardoz, there's TONS of places where V has been called "she". There's also tons of places where V has been called "he".

And yet every single time some new page does it again, there's always some person acting as if this happened for the first time, as if there's some revelation that occured.

It didn't. V remains gender-ambiguous.

Indeed, Rich has often said in the forums on his own site that any in-character reference to Vaarsuvius' sex is just an expression of that character's own belief, and the characters don't know any better than we do.

I said that in my initial post. V lost due to story was my first conclusion. Worse, V was hit with a rock. From a lich. You know, the typical rock throwing lich. That in itself is so un-D&D I don't know what to think about it. I would have far preferred V be touched by Xykon for paralysis than a stupid rock throwing lich. If it never becomes important later to know Xykon wears some 1e/2e girdle of giant strength (that allows rock throwing), the rock was a complete WTF.

Visual metaphor! Xykon didn't actually hit V with a rock, but instead the rock represents the hurt he put onto the elf. ;)

Ya, if a DM did it, it would be a pretty cheap, but, y'know, MST3K Mantra, buddy!

It's been established that skeletons look identical (hence the shellgame at Azure City). So it may not be a Xykon doll, but just an undead skelly.

Actually, I think the rock is harking back to Xykon's defeat of Master Fyron way back in the day (bashed his head in with his own Wizzy Award).

It is a bit odd for a sorceror, but it's also in character for Xykon, who loves defeating his enemies in amusing and sadistic ways.

I am clueless. What does MST3K Mantra mean?
The MST3K Mantra (warning: link takes you to the TVTropes site, which is highly addictive), full name: Mystery Science Theater 3000 Mantra, is simply: It's just a show, I should really just relax.

By substituting other words for "show", it can be applied to a variety of other issues that fans get wound up about, including edition wars, for example: It's just a game, I should really just relax. ;)
