eh, I don't know... I'm a little confused too! I was figuring that V was the intended target, and the assassin is seeking vengeance for the familicide episode during V's little epic hiccup.
But then again, I have zero ranks in Knowledge(OotS), mind's too small to keep track of everything

Does str 0 leave you immobile, or actually paralyzed? If paralyzed and you can't move any muscles, really shouldn't be able to speak verbal components in addition to the more obvious no verbal. Or is that inserting more realism into the game than I should be?
Which, in an obvious pun on the term ".MOb", was a Mafia don.
Makes as much sense as anything at this point, I guess. Though I don't remember a one-panel joke like that ever becoming integral to the main plot before.
Doesn't matter. If his Str is reduced to zero, he's helpless and can't take any actions. Technically even letting him talk is a stretch. (If it's not reduced to zero, he should be relatively unimpeded, which clearly isn't the case.)

Hmm, interesting. Str 0 causes you to be helpless. Helpless *doesn't* actually say anything about not taking actions, but does say you are treated as Dex 0. Under ability damage, Dex 0 is listed as paralyzed. Paralyzed says you can't act but then contradicts itself by stating you can take purely mental actions. Also, speaking is a Free Action.
So V really can't take actions now (something I did not realize!). And really shouldn't be able to talk by RAW either.

My bad, forgot the Blue dragon Don was a one panel joke character. For some odd reason i thought that had been the top dog of the city Haley had guild issues with. I also completely forgot about V's casting of Familicide. That's the real reason for this attack.

And then you realize that by RAW, being dead doesn't prevent you from taking actions either...
Why does it have to be someone from the past? They are in a desert setting so blue dragons should be up and about, and they are inquiring about a local powerplayer which would mean local factions would react to them. Using strength poison and a flail would be ideal if you planned to capture some members to inquire why they are looking for that particular illusionist.
