Why? Just? Why.

Seriously... just get on with the plot since there is no payoff to this since the fact if was all a fantasy was already spoiled in the previous strip.

It would have been better not to show that it was a fantasy until the characters started to break free.

Yeah, the surprise with Xykon was neat, the 'fight' had its cool moments, and the happily-ever-after spiral did at least let us fantasise a little, but this is dragging things out interminably.

I'm inclined to agree. Mostly I just enjoy the ride with these strips, but we've got one dead and one lost party member to deal with, I don't have time for dream sequences right now.

OOTS started in 2003.

In episode 111, in 2004, the party was battling for the first gate. This battle was over by strip 115.

In episode 444, in 2007, the party was battling for the second gate. That battle ended in strip 463.

Today, in episode 888, in 2013, we are still building up to the battle for the third gate.

Assuming the party reaches the gate this year and successfully stop Xykon from opening it, I am extrapolating that we will get to the fourth gate in 2022.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who was like "What's the point of this?" when I finished reading the comic. Admittedly there was a little bit of a surprise at the end because of whose wedding it actually was, but since it's not actually happening, it doesn't really matter, surprise or not.
