Evocations of the Archmagi

Contact: submissions@enpublishing.net

A book that is unashamed about the most popular of the 'old-school' schools of magic - Evocation - the school that specializes in blowing things apart, roasting things to cinders and vapourizing anything that dares to stand against you.

This fall, E.N.Publishing will blast the doors off the schools of magic with the Evocations of the Archmagi. A spellbook and more, this volume explores the world of evocations from the most simple of 'blast wizards' and 'hit mages' and beyond.

We are looking for the most innovative and imaginative evocation spells to flesh out this spellbook. This is your chance to blast your way into the annals of history with mighty magics that could tear the world apart. Each spell should be worthy of a quest in and of itself, from the lowliest new cantrip that the youngest students would risk every silver in their purses for, to the mighty magics that tear the world assunder. We are also looking for prestige classes and feats appropriate to the volume, but please contact the submissions editor prior to sending such submissions to see if the material in question has already been covered.

Submissions should be turned in no later than July 14th, 2003. Return all submissions to submissions@enpublishing.net . Ryan Nock is the submission editor and project lead on this volume. Winning entries will be paid a percentage of sales depending on size of submission. Single spell submissions will not be paid but will receive a complimentary copy of the PDF when released. Persons contributing 10% or more of the final work will be paid their fair share of the author's percentage of the work.

We are not looking for standalone artwork at this point, but we would consider artist/author dual submissions (but please understand we might not accept the artwork even if we do accept the spell, feat or prestige class). All submissions accepted for publication become the property of E.N.Publishing.

This is more than a slap-together spellbook, and submissions will be reworked to match the format and context of the rest of the book.

Please include the following in your submission email:

Subject must include EVOCATIONS
Include your email address and your full name.

If your material is accepted for publication, you will be notified via email before the release of the book. If your material accepted for publication exceeds 10% of the material in the book, you will be contacted in order to get your mailing address for payment.

Very nice...

...then again, I do have a slight habit of muttering 'fireball' at the gaming table, regardless of my PC class or the game.

What are the deadlines on this?

Thanks!

Yeah... I should indeed indicate things like that eh?

July 14th.

I had it in the original version of the Press Release, but someone managed to not include it here.

What format should the submissions be in? Body of e-mail, .txt, .doc, .rtf, or .pdf?

Multiple submissions per e-mail/file, or send all at once (or in large batches, etc.)?

Paper, or plastic?

Flat Earth Society, Moon Landing a Hollywood Hoax, or TimeCube?

Jason, could you revise the press release to tell people to make sure they include their name and email address in the body of the email. If they don't include their name, we won't be able to credit them, and if they don't include their email, we won't be able to give them a free copy.

Are you limiting this to one submission per e-mail? If not, what format (if any) should we use to differentiate one spell from another? (I guess it could be considered intuitive, or a double-carriage return might be enough, but obviously I don't know what your feeling is.)

Submissions of the same type can go in the same email, separated by double-lines. If you're submitting both spells and feats, you can also put those in the same email. But if you have anything long like a prestige class, put it in its own email (and send us a query first).

Ok, so how big do you expect this book to be when it's done? Will that depend on the number of submissions you get or do you already have a set page count in mind?

I'm asking because I want to known how much someone will have to submit to be over that 10% content barrier.

Cheers!

p.s. FYI... I have 12 spells ideas so far but they're just in begining stage of creation. I'm shooting for 30 to 50 spells to submit but not neccasarily all at once.
