"The Star Wars Iconics had an adventure thread going, too, but I don't see it, now. Are you Jedi-types on vacation?"

OOC: Deedlit, I take it you have never read any of the novels or the RPG that the Lodoss OAV and series were based on. While the creators did, the characters don't speak Japanese in Lodoss.

In the source material upon which the Anime is based, the language spoken is called "the Common Tongue" and is descended from the languages of ancient Kastul and Alecrast.

In addition, person and place names are written out phonetically using Katakana, which shows that they are decidedly non-Japanese words.

The setting was presented as a "generic western fantasy" world, and Japanese honorifics did not appear in the writing.

I don't recall any honorifics appearing in the Manga or Anime, either...

In exchange, they cast their support behind Vanadia to become the new iconic elf

How many times to I have to point out I am a half-elf. I am just as proud of my my mothers ancestors as I am my fathers.

Perhaps, you should have put more points in WIS instead of just pumping CHA

He is correct. They characters in Loddoss dont speak Japanese.. but the creators of the series do. If they recorded English actors (or whatever) I don't their local audiance would understand it. Deedlit and Parn etc etc don't live in japan.. in fact I doubt Japan even exists on their world! Its not like we're talking quantum physics here.. the cookie stand is upstairs! Cookie stand counts as an eatary. An eatary is apart of the food court... erm anyways... Deedlit doesn;t speak japanese will never speak japanese and the language of japanese doesnt and will never exist on lodoss.

Makes an evil look at Redgar, not unlike the one she had on her face when Shiris was dancing with parn, and scowls at Redgar
