Opinions on Front Mission Series?

Ive recently been on a kick of Squaresoft , er Square Enix games and have been adding titles old and new to my collection. My question is - does anyone have any reviews, opinions etc on the Front Mission series, more specifically Front Mission 3?

Truth be told Ive never been that crazy about the whole giant fighting mech thing. Xenogears wasnt really my cup of tea. But FM seems to be tactical rpg and Im down with that.

Front Mission 3 has much more in common with Final Fantasy Tactics than Xenogears, unless memory fails me. You get a few pilots and a your Wanzers (I just love saying that word!), which are your mechs. There are a few different kinds with different attacks and ranges....but ultimately it's a 3-D tactical game similar to FFT or Advance Wars, with some RP elements and impressive cut scenes thrown in between missions (including a mini 'internet' that you can browse and get e-mail on).

If that sort of game appeals to you, then Front Mission 3 is a good way to go, as I found it to be a lot of fun.
