Opinions on Ki shout

Hi all,

I'm starting up a 3rd level bard-barbarian and was thinking of taking Ki Shout from OA as one of his feats. Has anyone taken this feat? How's it working out for you? Fun? Weak? Overpowered?

Thanks for the input.

take it if you want to be able to kill anything weak willed easily. at least i think it was a will save. whatever save it is, you will basically be able to kill anything that has a not so great save with little difficulty, gets a little boring after awhile.

It is a fun feat to use. Imagine fighting a bunch of orcs and giving a ki shout to have them all run away.

Now mechanically speaking by itself it is rather weak unless you reach high levels and have a good charisma(if i remember correctly). If the DM allows Singh Rager form OA, you should try to get into it. Basically with it you can perform a devastating charge in the first round where you can give a greater ki shout and than proceed to perform a full round attack against your opponent in that charge. Anyway it would be cool for a barbarian to act in such a way.

It's not that great, as it only works once per day. Other that that it is a very nice feat.
If you get it, have a look at the Singh Rager PrC, which gives some nice improvments to Ki Shout.

Geoff.
