Opinions, please! Is this forum valuable to you as a separate forum?

Should the d20/OGL forum stay separate from the General forum?

This is an utterly non-binding poll, but I'm curious what you folks think. The OGL/Pathfinder forum is a slow-moving forum; the last thread on the first page is a week old. One option we have in our upcoming re-org is to combine this with the General forum.

Pros: More people would see threads. All non-rules threads for games (including d20, non-d20, Pathfinder, 3e and 4e) would all be in one place.

Cons: Threads would churn off the front page much, much more quickly. Harder to find topics you're interested in.

What are your thoughts, preferences and opinions?

I'd rather have it remain its own forum.

I think once Pathfinder is actually out, traffic should pick up-- and if not, revisit the question then.

In the meantime rapid churn is counter productive to me, as a publisher-- though more eyeballs is a big plus, too.

It didn't seem like the OGL/d20 forum was anywhere near as slow-moving before the runup to 4e got officially underway. Also worth noting is that there was nothing new for Star Wars between Starships and Threats.

I think it should be merged. Why can I read about the latest Shadowrun book or Dogs in the Vineyard in General, but Pathfinder and StarWars gets shoehorned into this graveyard? I see the logic for the way things are, but in practice it's not necessary.

Definitely keep it separate. I've always liked that this forum has a different "feel" than General. This forum is much more crunchy, which is good.

I could see this forum being expanded a bit though, since non-d20 systems are discussed in here on occasion.

There have been a lot of good threads in here in the past and I think many of them would have been lost if they were in General.

I think the real problem is placement. Why does this fall after the rules forums when it seems to me that it should be placed closer to the 4E forum? Actually, when you consider that most of the games being discussed in this forum are already out, why is it not above the 4E forum?

I like having the separate forum, but I would like to see non D&D/OGL games here, too. There is not that much discussion about them, but it might help guide a little more traffic here and get more attention to those games because the threads won't disappear as quickly.

This is the only forum I regularly visit here. If it weren't for this one, I wouldn't even bother dropping by ENWorld.

That may make me rather unusual but it doesn't change the truth.
