Opinions Please...

Thanks

I had wondered if I could ever get my Iajutsu focus against rogues. I thought it kinda cheap that they could get away from all of my Iajutsu skills.

Havent finished downloading OA yet so Im not familiar with the Iajutsu Master, but if they dont need to use the sword two handed you may wanna dual wield. With a Sun Blade in the off hand of course. Focused, Finessed, Specialized, Imp Criticalled bastard swords being dual wielded with only a -2 to Attack is pretty bad ass. And you can draw two weapons if the DM dont let you sheath free. And Flick MAY apply to a Sun Blade.

Yup...

That was my idea, TWF (Two-Weapon Fighting), ITWF (Improved Two-Weapon Fighting), and GTWF (Greater Two-Weapon Fighting). However, I didn't think about the sunblade in my off hand. That would be quite usefull. Is there an enchantment that allows blades to be considered light? That would be ludicriously powerfull, but you could limit it to medium or smaller weapons.

Also, where is the enchantment Sure Striking?

My only lament about 3e... the original kensei got screwed... now I have to hunt to make up for it...

Does anyone know where I could find a copy of the original AD&D Kensei? Thanx for the replies all.

Yes, flat-footed does only apply at the beginning of combat....normally. However, with flick of the wrist, you can catch someone flat-footed after the first round of combat, and also you have a very good chance to beat your opponent's initiative on the first round of combat as an Iajutsu master, since you get dex (which will be high since you'll probably be unarmored and using weapon finesse), improved init (prereq) and cha (which will be high since it's super useful for iajutsu masters) to your init score, making it around 15-20 or so without even really trying all that hard to max it out. Also, you DO still get the damage against rogues who are caught flat footed, they're just slightly tougher to hit since they still get their dex. What's even better is that you also get the extra damage against uncrittable monsters...there is NOTHING that stops the extra damage from being done (except for hold person or something ;-)). I suppose you could dual wield, too, but it always seemed unnecessary/not as cool to me (the idea of someone walking around without a sword out, pulling it out real quick just to cut someone to bits and then sheathing it again before anyone can blink would just be so undeniably cool). And you don't even really need specialization or high magic bonuses or anything, since the vast majority of your damage will be done by iajutsu focus and moving really fast.

Cool,

So sunblades are the answer then, and flick of the wrist... hmmm... I am feeling unduly evil right now.... hehehe... But I also still want to have high STR and combat abilities. I agree with the coolness of strike and close, but it's also sweet when the strike and close, and the open up into a flurry of blades. That where all the attacks with a 17-20 x3 crit come in. I am gonna go look at the MotW today, so I'll finally know if I have 8 attacks or 7... nmwahahaha.... sorry...

Anyhow, here's how he's gonna look now.

1 rgr/ 2 Bbn/ 12 Ftr/ 5 IaM

I have to have another class for the skill points needed for Iajutsu master... Pluss I'll always have my dex and the like.

Thanks a bunch for the help!
