The wording of this in KotS is as follows:

under Opportunity Actions: "... An Opportunity Action interrupts the action that triggers it. ..."

under Interrupts: "... An interrupt lets you act before a triggering action is resolved. If the interrupt invalidates the triggering action, the action is lost." (emphasis mine).
