I don't think it is that much questionable ;) Usually a magic item's cost grows faster than linear with the bonus. E.g. a +1 armor magic cost is 1000 and +2 is 4000 IIRC. If you could just use more items of the same kind, if they are "slotless", it would be very cheap. I bet that if there was an ioun stone that gave +2 caster level, it would not be priced twice but definitely more.

Unfortunately - Karma Beads stack.

So that evil Priest can still kill the entire party with no save without resorting to anything as gauche as a bunch of orange crystals hovering over his head.

Blasphemy should be a direct comparison of hit dice, not a comparison of hit dice against caster level - it's just too crazy overpowered right now.

That is a seperate question. For the original question: Caster Level is "only" for spell effects, dispel checks, overcoming spell resistance, spell range, magical auras, and item activation. Not for spells known or spells per day.

AFAIK they don't. You can't have more than 1 on the same Strand. You can have more Strands, since they don't occupy a space on you, but there is no mention they would stack: you probably could activate both at the same time (the effect last 10mins) but as a general rule an effect from the same source doesn't stack unless it's damage or cured Hp.
