Orc and Pie enhancement!

The other day, I was in a little test adventure with some friends, and we fought a bunch of orcs. The last orc was a kind of powerful orc unique to the setting, and was fought in a room alone after the other orcs had been slain.

At the end, I made a comment along the lines of, "where's the pie ?"

Now, I figured I'd be one of the only people to get that, but virtually all of them did (congrats, Monte!), and we went into OOC mode for about half an hour. Monte's Orc and Pie adventure is very, very well known! Who'd ha' thunk it?

(I encourage everyone to go look at the pie link above:)

Well, one of my buddies found a web enhancement for Orc and Pie! And sure enough, that question was at the top of everyone's minds when we were yakking about the pie...

finally a web enhancement that lives up to the quality of the original work. Monte must now be crowned the undisputed king of online game design.

Well, I agree that Monte is the best game designer out there, but the enhancement shows the difficulty in living up to the original work. Some of the options in the enhancement contradict the adventure.

The adventure synopsys says:
Concluding the Adventure: Pie tastes good.

But some of the items on the random chart are:
50-52 Spoiled
59-61 Cockroach
71-73 Old smelly sock
83-85 Undead
89-91 Bus station-flavored
;)

Wow, that's right. Mr. Cooke, we, the gaming community, are very upset that you include such flavors of pie. I understand that creativity on your level is difficult for mere mortals to achieve, but still, couldn't we have results other than "cockroach"?

I mean, I'm not gonna risk my life over a damned cockroach pie. Seriously.

Have you tried cockroach pie? Maybe it's great. Don't know 'til you try.

Well, he may be right. Pumpkin pie proves the point that anything tastes good with enough sugar in it.

Speaking of which, there is no pumpkin pie on the list! What the heck?

Now we need another enhancement.

:D
