Haley has a husband? I don't remember that...

That's one theory for her "last" secret she did not get to reveal. I believe the only members of the OotS that are definitely married are Durkon and V.

C'mon guys. You know you cannot resolve the romantic entanglement of an ongoing story until the end of the story, or else you'll lose a key element of your narrative. Practically no good stories have the lovers get together in the middle of the series.

Sounds like a challenge, and a good reason to do it differently.

Durkon's not married. Hilgya (the female dwarven cleric of Loki from the Linear Guild) was, though she'd left her husband...and that's why Durkon broke off his romance with her.

Or Romeo and Juliet. Their secret marriage drove half the story -- admittedly, off a cliff, but...

So maybe Haley is REALLY married to Hilgya, but they're ashamed of each other which is why Hilgya TRULY left her and claims that her SO is a male Dwarf. And Haley doesn't want to admit she married a female Dwarf.

This month's Dragon has Haley actually speaking again (albeit in 1 panel).

Very refreshing.

I believe that the Haley issue is about to get resolved...in the next couple weeks at most.

This whole episode is going to work out like the end of many an 80's teen angst/comedy film such as "16 Candles."

The key to it all is how Rich draws Elan in the last couple of panels: go look at what he looks like and you'll see where things are going.

Trust me.
