I thought Elan was through with being incompetent :(
He's no longer incompetent in battle, and he has a lot more confidence and is more generally useful.

However, he did multiclass out of Bard into a PrC, so his bardic abilities (like giving inspiring speeches) are the same as they always were.

Aaah, I love Elan.

Of course, in a lot of ways I sort of am Elan, except for the whole 'loving the ladies' bit (& I was so disappointed when I first started reading the strip and finally realized he wasn't gay). Now if I could just find a good PrC mentor like he did. :heh:

Mark Antony (Julius Cesear by Shakespeare. It might be historical; I can't remember)
St. Crispin's Day Speech (Forgetting the title, but from Shakepheare's play about Agincourt)
Aragorn's Speech before the Black Gates (movie RotK)
Eisenhower (historical, I think)
President's Speech (Independence Day)
William Wallace (Braveheart)
Do you need to list both Independance day and the St. Crispin Day's speech? I thought the one in Independance Day was heavily based on Shakespeare's speech...

Entertaining strip. One more sign that Hinjo really needs to learn a bit more about this group.

So awesome....

I really like this storyline. I'm wondering what's going to happen to the people in prison when the invasion hits? Especially Miko. I really hate her. I hope Belkar kills her.

It's likely that the Braveheart speech and the Return of the King speech were also heavily 'influenced' by Henry V. It's just a really, really strong speech that everyone wants to emulate.

As for the strip itself... I loved it. I too recognised every line (although wasn't able to place Patton's line), and that just added to the fun.

I have got this feeling that Hinjo will be a new party member after the city gets destroyed. Hmm, perhaps a party member will die in the upcoming battle and he will replace the deceased party member. The one most likely slated for death is Belkar, which would be a pity though, I live that character.
