On another note, the mystic theurge's spell choice vs Haley was terrible. Fireball and ranged touch vs a rogue? What about some SoDs targeting fort/will such as Baleful Polymorph or Phantasmal Killer?

I think Tsukiko put most of her point-buy into "Kinky" instead of Int.

Yeah after 520 I actually looked at the options for a cat as animal companion, *what?*
at Belkars level its got +4 hd for a total of +6 to hit, but still does 1 pt (1d3-2) damage at best. But it does get a feat from advanced HD, mageslayer is a great option. (since you don't loose xp when a ranger companion is killed.) It would even (arguably) meet the preq. (+3bab) from its 5 animal hd.

In a comedy story, anything that's funny can't be filler. Half the point of the story's existence is to make people laugh.
I disagree. In a serial story, anything that doesn't move the plot forward, at all, is filler. That doesn't make it unenjoyable or 'not funny'. Filler is not, by definition, a bad thing. It's just not necessary for the story.

Except that it does move the plot forward; this strip shows Haley knocking out Thanh and carrying him off. If Thanh (or his domination by Tsukiko) is relevent to the plot, then this strip is a critical part of whatever happens next. If (for example) the entire Resistance movement is crushed because Thanh wakes up at HQ and communicates his location to Tsukiko telepathically, who informs Xykon, who then attacks and kills everyone, forcing Haley and Belkar to flee the city and coincidentally leave the field that is blocking scrying and thus allowing for the reuniting of the entire OOTS, then this strip is absolutely essential in that sequence of events.

Just because we don't yet know HOW a strip moves the plot forward doesn't mean it's not moving the plot forward.
