Order of the Stick 540 is up

Meh?

One of his better ones in the past few weeks. Interesting from start to finish, Haley gets actual character development time, we get Rich's typically insightful take on the difference between LG and CG, and it brings the funny.

Interestingly, we also have an example of another one of Roy's romantic interests beginning to play the lawful stupid card as she struggles to apply what she 'knows' - in this case because she's an innocent whose never actually had to apply her beliefs before. It will be interesting to see if she develops Roy's nuanced thoughtfulness, or if this becomes a conflict with Roy after he's brought back.

Belkar moves the plot along. When everyone else is sitting around bickering about what to do with their captives, Belkar makes things happen. The afore mentioned captives either become slaves or corpses. This ties up silly loose ends.

It also probably helps that I can identify with him more than Celia or Miko or Hinjo or Durkon or any of the other Lawful Good characters. When God gives you lemons, you stab that smug bastard in the eye and call him Odin.

To quote something I read the other day "I know that violence isn't the right answer, I keep getting it wrong on purpose."

If Belkar was actually a character played by a real person, this guy must be fantastic. He is playing a total :):):):):):):) that should, by all means, totally destructive to the group and break the game - but in fact, he is doing its best to advance the plot and get things done - while maintaining his characters personality!
