Order of the Stick 705

The real problem is that the story gets hard to follow when it's so often something like ten days between installments.
There were only two in the month of February. Far be it from me to gripe about a free product, but I do find myself clicking on the site to see if it's been updated less and less.

The story's been much more important than the humour for quite some time now. (Not that the latter is gone; I certainly got a good groan out of the "graveyard shift" pun).

I have to wonder if maybe Rich is just getting tired of doing the comic or something.

Well, the main guy said that the prison would be guarded by a skeleton crew. So in the picture, you see the other lady loaded up with a hammer, morningstar, and presumably a bunch of holy water vials. That's because Skeletons are a DnD monster that take reduced damage from non-bludgeoning weapons and hammers. Skeletons are also undead, so they take damage from holy water. See, she thought that skeleton crew meant a crew of skeleton monsters, not a reduced force.

:)

No, I meant, "Niu, please!" sounds a lot like "Nigga, please!" Lifted directly from the urban dictionary means: 'A phrase commonly used to show disapproval or disdain towards another individual or comment' or 'Slang that means "Give me a break." Or anything similar in meaning.'

It still applies. This is just build up toward the funny. :)

Eh. We'll see.

The past quite a few strips have mostly been words words words with maybe a joke added at the end, and not one that always melds in the most seamless manner. Take this strip. That joke was basically "Crap, I forgot to tell a joke! Wait, I have one panel left! Perfect!"

If he wants to make it a very story driven comic with much less emphasis on the jokes, that's fine, but come on, we're reaching Megatokyo levels of update speed. Drama and story driven comics generally need to be updated more often to keep readers moving along with the comic and the plot. Comedic strips can be much more spread out, since each strip will have a self contained part that doesn't rely on the reader keeping up with the comic itself.

I really don't get why we're following the story of Azure City so closely. It took a ridiculous amount of time to get the party back together after the split. Now that things are finally set to move the primary plot forward... we cut away to follow a subplot that involves none of the main characters. This would be less of an issue if the comic was updated at it's old 3-per-week rate. Right now, it gives me the impression Rich just doesn't care about the OotS anymore.

On the positive side, I can say that the art in the last few strips hase been pretty high quality.

I don't disagree with your premise, except to note that OoTS has mostly been a very story driven comic with much less emphasis on the jokes for years. Years and years.

Well, the main guy said ... <snip>

Now that was funny! :D That's what I should tell my significant other when I laugh at RPG jokes. :p My type of answer.

Now, if we narrow down the search a bit more, is the phrase "Niu, please" some kind of joke as well?
