Origianl Ravenloft

In the original He was a vampire with 10th level wizard abilities.
so create a wizard 10th and add vampire template. Include fireball as one of the spells.

I was really looking for a completed conversion of the entire module. Just converting Strahd was the least of my wories. It's all the minutia that I didn't want to go through to run the adventure.
I really can't believe all those other modules on the conversion page have been done and not the (arguably) best module for D&D ever. I'll keep looking!

My group is playtesting a conversion now.

Unfortunately, the semester's about to be over and we won't get back to it until late January.

We just had our first run-in with the devil himself. We've been making adjustments to the conversion as we've gone along.

I'll see if I can get Dr. White (the guy that converted it) to email what we've got thus far to you if you're in a hurry. If not, hopefully we can make it conform to the conversion guidelines, though it's doubtful since he made a few "interpretations" to stick to the spirit of the original adventure.

As an aside, for the original module, Strahd should be a 10th level Transmuter. None of this 20th level necromancer/fighter foolishness.

I didn't convert it, like I said I found the conversion on line and posted it here because I thought it might help. If it doesn't then dont use it.:p

If I came across as bitter towards you I apologize.

I, too, have seen that conversion before on the Kargatane's website.

It's based on the 2nd edition Strahd, which was a big divergence from the 1st edition one in the first place.

I grew up with 2nd edition Strahd, but I've come to love 1st edition Strahd more.
