congrats on the awards matt.

I hope you can demo the game for me at Gen Con. It looks cool. The one issue that I still need to be sold on is how this game differs from 40K (other then the obvious fact that the two universes aren't the same)

In a nutshell, SST is a lot more dynamic and when both forces have access to their full army lists, you get a three-level battle going, with the Arachnids underground, the MI dominating the air and both going for it underground. You will find the reaction system adds a lot too, and if you play things wrong, the enemy may kill more of your men in your turn than his!

The Mongoose Infantry will be present in force at Gen Con, and you'll find plenty of demo games going on. Hope to see you there!

So my HUGE problem with 40K is it seems to be a game of who can generate the best army list. I take it that starship troopers is not so heavily dependant on your initial roster.

No - this is one of my favourite things about the system. There are plays and counterplays all through the game. Nothing is all powerful, everything has counter. The trick is getting your forces into the right position to counter your enemy.

Andy really did come up with a sublime system that has many, many different levels to explore.
