Dragonlance Origin of a tiefling on Krynn?

On of my players in my original Dragonlance Chronicles (DL1) campaign will be playing a tiefling. I’m fine with non core DL stuff being used in the game, just need to figure how to fit things in. Right now I’m thinking portal from Faerun, but is there any DL lore which might accommodate a tiefling?

A Black Robe mage has an affair with a devil or demon, leading to the tiefling character being born.

The character is mostly passable as human (or whatever the race the Black Robe is), but there are some tells about the character's infernal legacy (i.e. horns). Luckily, the character has learned to disguise himself/herself so those features are not so evident.
