Origins

Had a great time!

I had a great time at Origins this year (my first "big" con), and was worn out by yesterday afternoon. Maybe it was that pickup game that finished up at 3AM on Saturday night.

Played lots of Savage Worlds including the same scenario that Charles played. I spent too much on dice I didn't need and even sat in on a few seminars.

The ticket/program book discrepancy caused lots of confusion, including a game I missed because I couldn't find it. Also from my own eye, I thought the Saturday crowd was smaller than the Friday crowd! Or did I just imagine that??

Just my two pennies.

Saturday's crowd seemed really big when I was looking for players in the afternoon. There was a huge crowd in the RPGA room, as well as 200 people mustering for Living Arcanis.

I'd love to know the real numbers on Origins. I've always heard it was the second largest convention in the country, only smaller than Gen Con.

Oh, well, maybe next year. I'm always at the shows on business and usually don't know if or when I'll have any free time. (This extends into the evenings; a lot of business takes place over dinners or at industry events.) But I can might be able to come up with more than two hours' warning next year. . . .

I did end up in a Savage Worlds game. Had half my face burned off by the vengeful ghost of a crazy arsonist college student. Good times.

I'm glad you got into a game. Origins is my home town convention so if anyone ever wants an off the books (ie pickup game) of almost anything just give me a my friends a few days and we'll get something fun going. If you happen stay to Monday or leave late Sunday like some people do we hold a cookout Sunday afternoon that we invite almost anyone to. We got Mearls to come one year and this year we had the QAGs people. It is a relaxing cook out that features no convention food.
