[OT] All you French speakers, help me out...

Here's the deal: I need to know the French translation of one of Napoleon Bonaparte's sayings, "Friendship is only a word."

More importantly, however, I need a way of saying goodbye thats somehow more final than just "adieu;" something that implies that I will *never* see the person to whom I'm speaking again. The more emotionally harsh, the better. It needn't even be a single word, (since I doubt one exists); a short phrase will do just as well.

Any assistance will be much appreciated....

AFAIK (I'm not French, I only live in France), adieu is final enough, the non-final one would be au revoir...

On se reverra dans l'Enfer could be a nice translation of See you in Hell, a good final one for a bad guy

But without the context it's quite difficult to create the appropriate sentence.

Oops, as I said, I'm not French, I only live here. It's hard enough trying to change from Spanish to English to French, I can have some minor errors, cannot I?

I know how it is...

One of my colleages is Spanish (but from Miami) and is currently learning French. His main problem is getting around the fact that the same letter can change pronounciation according to the letters around it.

It seems your French is way better than his, though.
