[OT] Birthday. Ugh.

Dr Midnight said:
It's my birthday. Spank me already.

I hate aging, and I'm only 25... er, 26 now. I've got many years of bitter, hollow birthdays and "I feel so old" whines ahead of me.

Bah. Pathetic little puppy. I turned 26 a decade ago.

I'll be 32 on the 21st.

I remember (vaguely) when i turned 26.

Food didn't taste as good.

My joints and muscles couldn't bend like they used to.

My body began emitiing various odours and noises that a normal person just shouldn't make and soon all there was to look forward to was a slow, agonizing decline into senility and decrepitude until you just wish you were DEAD

Ummm,,, what were we talking about?

Well, for the last 11 years I've had a 24 hour or longer birthday party... The last seven or eight years it's tended towards a week-long one, sometimes with camping, etc.

I'll be 31 this August. Keep in mind, Doc, that your birthday is the only day of the year that is indisputably _yours_ and it'll be a lot more fun. Insist on it.

btw, how's the love life?

Damn, there is a lot of hostility towards aging around here. :D

I'm thirty-one, and I don't feel that bad! And I'm balding, need to lose weight, and I'm white! (Terrible Curse, that).

Maybe it's because my mom gave birth to me at age 45, and my dad was 53 when I was born. They remained quite active until they died. I never saw old age as meaning I was going to burn out like a red giant star. :)

My mom died decades ago, and my dad only died a few years ago, but they blazed a trail while they could. I hope I can live up to their legacy if I can.

The only thing I regret is not being able to handle the gamer staple foods with an iron stomach like I used to. Pizza with double sausage, mushrooms and extra cheese don't quite slide down like it used to - and eating a dozen boiled egg yolks on french buttered toast is a little out of my league now.

But HEY! I can see my toes! :D

Don't fret Dr. Midnight!

Life is just starting to get interesting.

I met my wife when I was 26, got my first good paying job at 27 and bought my first house, had my son at 30, etc, etc...

The best things in your life are ready to happen and now you have the life experience to take full advantage.

Rock On Dr. Midnight!

:) Happy B-Day, Doc Top O'Clock! :)

I hope we'll have time for a couple of brews at GenCon again this year! :D

Damn young Whipper snapper ! I'd beat you with my cane but my knees hurt too much to move !

Happy B-Day Midnight you're in the best years enjoy it, call up your girl and ask her to help you celebrate tonight.

Me Too!

I turned 30 today. Glory be to me.

No changes yet... oh wait... back just went... I can feel it in my knees that we'll have rain tomorrow...
