(OT) Chuck Jones dead at 89

It's a sad night for all toon fans. Chuck Jones died today. From the news report:

Jones died of congestive heart failure Friday, Feb. 22, 2
002, at his home in Corona Del Mar, Calif. He was 89. In a career
spanning more than 60 years, Jones made more that 300 animated
films and won three Oscars and many other awards and
recognitions.

I can hear Porky Pig, raising a toast to Chuck: 'Th...th...that's all folks!'

Rest in peace, Chuck. You made me laugh all my life.

One of my all time idols in the art world has died.. He had a sense of style and timing that I have yet to see truly rivaled these days. Very few of the truly great ones are left.

I grew up watching his works, and will miss him greatly.

What a shame--first Charles Shultz now Chuck Jones. They both made me laugh for many years. At least we have over 60 years of memories of him in the cartoons--they never do get old.
