[OT] Claim of first clone birth

Rich people growing clones is unlikely. No matter how the baby got started, it's still a human being. It's no more illegal to "grow your own organ bank" than to kidnap a random person and steal their kidneys.

Is there any worse thing than the government being in charge of a child?

Go read some case files on child abuse if you really believe that. (Which is not to give the Florida child-welfare system a pass, by any means.)

Who is this Florida lawyer anyway? I'm curious what relation he has to the suit. Presumably he has some "standing" towards the baby, or a court would not let him start a lawsuit; you just can't sue random people in matters that don't concern you.

I think that what is meant by playing G-D is tampering with nature rresponsably -- in this case, tampering with sometihng that we don't understand well enough yet and that we believe will likely result in lots of unhealthy people.

By the way, one thing that Rael keeps saying in interviews that is false:

Elohim does not mean extraterrestrials in ancient Hebrew. It means G-D or the heavens. He is really, really stretching the above part to get extraterrestrials, becuase people have always had a conception of G-D that included up.

The word is indeed plural, but the best explanation for that is the generally accepted concensus of scholars that monotheism did not spring directly from polytheism, but there was an intermediate stage called variously Henotheism or Monolotry, which involved the belief in a single deity more powerful than all the others. It is believed that the ancient Israelites believed this up until their arrival in Canaan, which accounts for why some of the biblical text uses the plural.
