[OT] FOTR to be bigger, bolder on DVD

I dunno. I think that the LOTR movie is one thing that I'd be willing to splurge a bit and give them extra money. At least I'm not one of those people that saw LOTR 5+ times in the theatre (I DID see it opening night, however )

Extremely silly as to how they edited out the full gifting scene in Lothlorien, only to put it in the DVD set...IMO, it was a very important part of the book/movie, and it very likely only took up an extra 5mins or so in the movie. Absurd.

Relax. You didn't need to have a feeling it was edited..since a clip of the scene was shown in the FotR trailer. So you can -know- it was edited. And while I agree it'sprobably only five minutes or so..that'sthe pain of editing. They didn't take one 30 minute scene out. They took a bunch of 30 second, 1 minute, 5 minute bits out. I'm sure a very good arguement could have been made for several of the scenes needing to be in the movie. Even the much talked about Robin Williams as Tom Bombadil scene.=) Ok..just kidding about that, but a number of scenes had to be cut to get it down to 3:30. I'm sure it wasn't a pleasant job. But we'll get to see the unedited soon enough, so just be patient.

Hey, if the folks making Lord of the Rings want to make some extra bucks, I'm only to happy to oblige. So I'll be buying both. Chances are, when I get the second I'll give the first to either my nieces or my brother.

I just wish they had gone with the 4 hour version.
