I second that, and muse - would Horacio be blushing?

Gads, that's funny. I thought it was something akin to "The Onion" at first, but...

can anybody give me a summary of the article? I tried to access it at work, but hit the "you have tried to view an illegal website" firewall here...

Thanks

The harry potter broom toy.. well... it vibrates and young girls are using it... in a way that Harry, I'm sure, didn't imagine...

Nothing like exposing adolecent girls to the idea that making themselves feel good arouses nothing but shock, disgust, dismay and an overall perception that a warm tingle in the ol' delta should result in some kind of deciplinary action.

If a toy has the secondary utilitarian purpose as a gentle provoker of libidinous shivers, remind me again why that automatically means it needs to be removed fromt the shelves? It's hard for me as a feminist to see this as anything other than another attempt to remove women from the power of their own sexuality. I mean, what's the big deal? Young girls are finding out that it feels good to stimulate their eroginous zones? Hey newsflash: they find it out anyway and if they don't they wind up with more sexual hangups than a closet full of lengerie.

A population of young girls entering the flower of their youth with intimate knowlege of their own pleasure principal seems like a good idea. Discovering that they're on the road to adulthood and panicking or snickering or calling for a recall of the precious Nimbus in question seems like an idea wrought by everything wrong with the diametricly opposed forces of capitalist economics (sex sells) and our fundamental moral fabric (sex is bad).

Girls mature faster than boys. If you find out your twelve year old daughter has been pleasuring herself do her a favor and have "the talk" (about sex, contraceptives, STDs, etc.). Do NOT just freak out and attempt to prevent her from feeling good.

I mean... what would that say about you as a parent?

OK, this was kinda a fun thread about a weird unintended side effect. Something good for a chuckle. Now it's a lecture from someone I don't know on how I should be raising my daughter. Thanks for nothin', pal.

Hey man, at least they aren't marketting +1 baseball bats that vibrate.

I would be in all kinds of hot water, ya know, since I invented those things.

Moms would throw fruit at me on the street and try to run me over and stuff.

But if I manage to tick off some zealous religious groups, its all good :D
