(OT) Holy Bovine Is Out Of The Hospital *UPDATE*

First Post
Jeff (Holy Bovine) was diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis three years ago. It's a fatal liver disorder where scar tissue forms on the bile ducts and spreads out to destroy the liver. A liver transplant is the only cure.

Early Tuesday morning the hospital called and said they had a match. Jeff underwent the eight hour surgery that night.

Jeff was taken off the respirator Wednesday morning and transferred out of the ICU later that day, which is faster than average recovery time.

He's doing great so far. His body seems to be accepting the new liver. I'm going up to visit him now so I'll have more news later.

Best of luck, and wishes for a speedy recovery to Jeff.

The way the post started off, I was bracing myself for a bad news post - hopefully this will have been the best possible news instead.

Holy Bovine-

Here's to a speedy recovery! Think of it this way: you can use all that time in the hospital to convert your 3.0 books to 3.5. ;)

I think I speak for many people when I say, "Moo!"

So...do you get to keep the old one?

My dad's a transplantee (kidney), so I have an idea of the inconveniences that lay ahead (meds, diet, the fact you've been cut open). We found that a sense of humor is key to recovery. And anyone who's read your posts knows you have that.

So, best of luck, speedy recovery, and all that. And if you really want to milk it, say in your most pathetic voice "I'd feel a lot better if I had all three revised core books." :)

To my favorite SL crewmates, Bov and Madriel, here's hoping for speedy and well deserved recovery. You know I got the entire panethon rooting for you bud! ;)
