Hey all,
Well, I’m finally totally back on the net after about 6 months. Some of you may remember that I’ve been going through a really rough time. Well, things are still not great, but in Feb I did manage to get an apartment on time after my landlord told me he was going to rent to relatives…and it’s right down the street.
I didn’t want to say anything at the time, so as not to jinx it. Unfortunately, it’s been a tough time unpacking since it’s a way smaller place and I’ve been SO blah, so my PC still isn’t up (yup, got to keep it in the settlement). Plus, my parent’s had my laptop up until July. But finally, I'm back on the net.
So, how have things been? Crappy. I’m now officially divorced, but I still have a bunch of issues with my ex and others. I’ve been looking for work, but my work experience isn’t so good do to my history of anxiety & depression. But worst of all… I haven’t played a single RPG in 17 months. My group of “friends”, except for 2 that have just about as much garbage happening to them as I do, have pretty much forgotten I exist and have stuck with the ex. It’s been pretty lonely for me… good thing I’ve got such an amusing cat.
But, before the move, I really loved hanging out on these boards. It helped a lot to have people to talk to and vent to, even if they were strangers. I really appreciate the people that said nice things to me, but most of all, I’m very grateful that this place exists. And even though I’m not playing anything right now, I’m back here for good.
Now, on to my weird request. It starts with a clear lamp base I have that you can fill with whatever you want. For years I’ve tried to decide what to put in it. I finally thought that it’d be cool all filled with dice. Well, then I thought, “wouldn’t it be cool if I got dice from gamer’s that I knew from ENWorld?” It would be a link to the friends I’ve made here and a really special lamp. So, I’m asking if people would send me a die, “donate” if you will, to place in my lamp. It could be an unlucky one, one someone left at your place, your ex’s, … (just don’t send me one that your pet ate and you got back ). I can’t offer to pay for shipping, but placed in a small bubble envelope, shipping is less than $1 within the US (I don’t know about overseas). I would so love it if people could join in on this. It’d be cool to show the lamp to people and say, “that die came from _______”. I know it’s forward of me and kinda weird, but it would really mean a lot.
So, anyone that might want to participate, please reply to this post. I guess I’ll figure out what to do once I see how many people post. Then I’ll figure out about how to get out my snail-mail address safely and so on. If this really happens, I’ll keep posting to let you all know how it goes and eventually, I’ll try to get pics of the finished lamp up. I’m really looking forward to see what happens… I think it’ll be a really great project.
