Wow. I just got home from work to find that England had one a test match. Nearly gave me a heart attack, it shocked me that much. What were the final scores anybody?

What shocked me was to discover that, no matter what the outcome of the match, South Africa is now the no.1 test team in the world - what have we been doing?

There's cricket in movies?????:)

Come on, the cricket scene in King Ralph was the best part of the film. all these years, we've been playing the game wrong, all we need to do is treat it more like baseball and we'd be champions :D

How DO they work that out anyway? It's strange isn't it?

According to the BBC:

"South Africa have ousted Australia from the number one spot after a 2-0 home win over Pakistan.

It is the first change at the top of the table since its introduction in May 2001.

With Australia yet to play Bangladesh or Zimbabwe in a Test series, the South Africa side has had more opportunities to earn points.

They have played 17 of the possible 18 series while Steve Waugh's side have played only 13 different series in the same timeframe.

The championship awards two points for a series win and one for a draw, but it only counts the last result between two teams, at home and away.

Until 2005, the average points per series played decides the ranking. Thereafter, total points will be the key yardstick. "

So there you go :)

See.. the reason we lost.. is to give the Engrish a false sense of hope. Otherwise.. it just gets boring.. Now.. because of the new wacko rules that I am sure were put forward by a South Affreakan we knew that it didn't really matter if we threw this one.

Really.

Truly.

Why would I lie?

:D

Thats explains it then. Oh well, we should organise Australia to play a couple of 1 test series vs Zimbabwe and Bangladesh (Just who have Bangladesh played in a test match anyway? Have they won any???).

I think it is rather amusing that the Aussies have hammered us over the series (4-1?) and yet can be upset that we have clawed a mere ignominous defeat from the wreckage of total humilation which we were heading for... :)

You underestimate the Australian enthusiasm for Beating the English :)

We're not upset... it's more like a state of disbelief :D
