[OT] Know a good webhosting company?

I just got my very own little goth night down here in Asheville, NC. We're getting set up for our second night (August 9th), and I'm looking to register a domain name for it. But I'm not sure of who the best people to go through would be.

Basically, we need a pretty small site. No more than 10MB server space. We don't need any email boxes (although having 1 or 2 would be a nice bonus). We don't need much (if any) tech support, pre-designed pages, etc. Our bandwidth needs won't be that great either...I doubt we'll see more than 10-20 hits/day, and the main traffic will consist of a few images, and possibly some flash animations.

If anybody knows of a good company that I can do this through, I'd be very greatful. I'd also like to be able to get it for 6 months (instead of a year). Price is a concern...I'd rather not pay more than $50-75 for a 6 month contract.

Thanks,
Spider

JaguarPC has some good prices. $7.95/month (or $5.95/month if you pay for a full year) gets you 100 MB of space, 8 GB transfer, unlimited email accounts, and a bunch of other stuff.

Doteasy has some good deals, ranging from 20 MB disk space, 1 GB bandwidth, 10 e-mail accounts, and some other stuff for free, to a mega-package, with 1 GB disk space, 20 GB bandwidth, and a bunch of other stuff for around $8/month (right now).

No pop-ups, no banner ads for the free account, either.

$4.95/month + $19.99 setup fee.

Gets you web hosting, 50 mb of disk space, 10 email boxes, 10 mailing lists (which are VERY useful to have, btw), MS Access database, PHP, Perl CGI, and ASP support. I don't know if they have a 6-month plan, though. Still, you can get the full year for $80 including the setup fee.

This does not include your domain registration, just web hosting. For domain registration I recommend GoDaddy software (www.godaddy.com). Cheap, easy to use, and very helpful. Stay as far away from Network Solutions as you can.

I've been using both companies since the beginning of the year, and I'm very very happy with both.

I use Jatol for my hosting. $30 for a year of service, 100mb of space and 1 gig of transfer. Has php and MySQL if you need that as well.

I've been nothing but satisfied by them.

Thanks for all your help! I went ahead and signed up with jaguarpc.com. They offer a lot more stuff than I expected, and I'm still poking around the setup screens. They're decently cheap, and it looks like I'll have more than enough to do what I want.
