OK...before I get jumped for not looking on the web for this...I did, I also consulted my Latin-English Dictionary with little success.

I am looking for the following words translated to Latin:

Venus = ?
Earth = Terra
Moon = Luna
Mars = ?
Jupiter = ?
Saturn = ?
Uranus = ?
Neptune = ?
Pluto = ?

Thanks in advance!

A latin question here, also: Scientific names of animals, plants, etc... use latin, right? Or is it greek?

The reason I am asking this is because I was trying to create scientific names for the creatures in my campaign setting, but wasn't sure what the heck language I should check out. (I have a semi-low magic setting which is why I am doing this.)

English = Latin

Mercury = Mercury
Venus = Venus
Earth = Terra
Moon = Luna
Mars = Mars
Jupiter = Jupiter
Saturn = Saturn
Uranus = Uranus
Neptune = Neptune
Pluto = Pluto

Not quite... but close. ;)

Oh, I didn't mean it that way, I was just trying to show This side of = sign, English, that side Latin. And incidentally I've never heard of the Roman God Saturn being called Saturnus, where did you get that? Not saying your wrong just always been told it's just Saturn. Etc, for the others.

Actually, Jupiter is spelled Iupiter, but pronounced more or less the same way. Latin has a J, but its only for phoneticizing foreign words.

Indiana: The name of God . . . Jehova!

Henry Jones: But in the Latin alphabet, Jehova begins with an "I"
