Which version are you getting? The one that's out now, the extended version, or the super-deluxe magical solid gold gift set?

I personally went with the one that's out now. I don't know if I could sit through another 30 minutes of that movie, and I don't really care about the bookends or the additonal extras.

I'm gonna buy the extended, but someone was rather nice and gave me the normal one for my birthday (Which is technicly still 5 days away, but...), so I'm all set untill then :)

LOL! If you really couldn't stand "that movie" so much, why are you considering buying the movie at all?

:p
I like the movie, but it definitely has its slow moments. I figure that the footage that was cut was chosen to be cut for a reason. I know it was to get it down to a palatable length, but I would guess that most of the material they chose to cut either added little to the story or was just plain boring. In my mind, an additional 30 minutes of stuff like that would push the movie from "good with slow parts" to "slow with good parts".

I am so Peter Jackson B***H, that I am going to be buying the extended version in November. I already own the one that just came out and will more than likely buy the super duper expansion one as well.

I have already bought the one just released. I also plan on buying the November release as well. Is there another release after the November release planned?

New Line probably won't frell people over that much... they're an ok dvd-mak'n company... not like Universal and their infinite Universal Ultimate Editions.

You can bet they will sell all 3 movies in one pack after 2003.

Yeah, but would that pack be the expanded or the original version? My guess would be the original...
