[OT] Lost a furry friend this morning...

I am so sorry for your loss.

I have lost two of my cats this year one to a brain tumor he was 16 and one last week to congestive heart failure and kidney failure. I picked up his ashes yesterday as I walked out of the vet's office with the box I burst into tears.

Burger was lucky to have found you and your brother and that she had such a good home.

Sorry to hear about that. It sounds like Burger was a cat who lived life to the fullest, and that's something to celebrate. All ways of losing a friend are hard -- the quick and shocking and the slow and drawn-out both have their different hurts. I hope you get through this one alright by remembering what a wonderful friend you had.

Well, I've seen other people do this and I hoped I'd never be in the position to do it myself, but here goes.

Good-bye Burger, you will be missed.

I share your grief. I have lost furry friends over the years. It HURTS

I'll add my hat into the ring of those offering condolences. Burger lived a good life, it seems, one filled with more love than if she had remained a stray. We've lost a few animals over the past couple of years, so I know you you feel.
:(

Losing a pet is extremely difficult. I'm a veterinarian (by day) and I have to see this kind of thing almost daily. It never gets easy. I still carry have a rabies certificate in my wallet from a cat that died over 10 years ago. My current cat is 18 yrs old, recently had thyroid surgery, and was diagnosed with diabetes about a week ago. I'm afraid I can't keep him around much longer.

It's nice to have an outlet.
