SLAM DOWN RE: PYRAMIDS

I waited a few days to make sure I was right before saying this:

I am officially calling out all of you who claimed that it is the archaeological consensus that slavse built the pyramids. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. I emailed my former Prof, who is currently the President-elect of the American Anthropological Association

Unresolved.

Hey Liz, I was wondering if you could settle an arguement for me. Regarding the Egyptian pyramids. Is it the concensus among Archaeologists that the pyramids were built by slaves, or is this a question which is still solidly unresolved?

I guess your only real response to this would be to claim this email is fake (why would i do that?) or that she doesn't know what she is talking about (which is laughable). BLAM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quite frankly you are absolutely right I think its a fraud of an email, either or she is taking the stupid scientific perspective that I have to be right there for the history has to be wrong.

I do not think that all of the Pyramids were built by slaves but we know that the Egyptians had the Jews in slavery, and that was around the time of Ramses the II I do believe, we know that they were making brick for the cities of the Pharoah. Truthfully I think that the work was done by slaves under the supervision of the builder whether these slaves are Egyptian, or others I can not tell you cept for the little I already said.

Keep in mind slavery in the Ancient times was not like slavery of today necessarily. Romans employed slaves as the crew, and as even the Captians of their merchant ships. Greeks used there slaves as warriors (occasionally).

I find it highly unlikely that a non slave work force built the pyramids.

.

huh?

Tada your huh is answered

Why you would do it is simple your a Troll but besides the point I and many other Archeologists do not feel as your email buddy feels...so the rest of my argument applies and is stated above,

Oh and if you are wondering about my mispelling, and grammer trouble its cuz it is really late, and I am really tired.

The rest of the above should read

Quite frankly you are absolutely right I think its a fraud of an email, either that or he is taking the stupid scientists cop-out perspective that he has to be right, so therefore the true history has to be wrong.

Its either a matter of ego working here or its a Matter of falsification ( I would say ego)

Hey Priest, why would I falsify an email to win an internet arguement?

I hate in when people insist on strongly holding opinions over the net even if they don't know anything about what they are talking about. I won't tell you anything about Molecular Biology, but I studied Anthropology and have been on Archaeological digs so why don't you just admit that you don't have any justification for what you are saying.

I have only the vaguest knowledge of the space elevator system. But shouldn't you be able to blow the bottom end of cable free if the top breaks? Then the cable would whip out into space.

PS

Another very cool book dealing with a space elevator is David Gerrold's Jumping Off The Planet. The elevator there is in Equador, I think. One interesting facet of the book is that the Earth is headed for a global collapse and that the rich and powerful - and those who can see what has been coming - are all scampering off the planet like rats off a sinking ship. The elevator was in fact designed at the first to be removable, as they forsaw the idea that someday they might have to literally cut the ties with Earth. When they do, it's a pretty spectacular scene.

Excellent book, by the way. I need to read the two sequels.

I also like the ideas in Transhuman Space about how Mars comes to be terraformed. The various factions and such bicker and bicker endlessly, until a group of scientists simply goes and does it, planting nanofactories and such out in the wilderness where they replicate the needed materials.

i dunno.. you ever see the Mr Show where they decide to blow up the moon?

"We went to it, brought back some rocks from it... There's not much else you can do with it..."
