Mouseferatu isn't dead yet!

Darn! I guess we'll break the clubs and the knives back out! :)

Seriously, I am sorry to hear the news. Family, Jobs, and Health come before spending time with friends, though - Take care, Mousey, and be well. We'll see you when we see you. As long as Morrus is at the helm, I'm sure we'll always have a place for you at the table. :)

Definately time to invest in some voice recognition software. You should be able to claim it as a work expense on your taxes, or from your medical insurance company if you have one.

Buy the best you can.

We miss you, Mouse! Please get well soon! :)
And I can empathize; every time I hurt one of my fingers, I can't type well, either. This can really mess up one's life... :(

Myself, I even miss you on two boards, given that I'm also a regular on the White Wolf boards!* :p

*: Screen name TheShadowOfMyFormerSelf, should anyone ask (but Mouseferatu already knows, of course). :)

Oh, another thing: I love Blood Sacrifice*! :D

Heh. And today I got the Guide to the Anarchs; I'm currently reading it... Looks very good so far! (BTW, a question for later, when you feel better and can type again: What did you write for that book? It says that you did "Additional Material" but doesn't specify anything in particular...)

(*: The V:tM book, not necessarily the act itself! :p)

You'd better not be dead! You owe me manuscripts. ;)

Actually, Ari and I are good friends and stay in contact. He actually did pick up voice recognition software, but discovered a horrible secret - writers don't speak the way they write. He tried using it for a bit, but the work bore little resemblance to his style of writing, and it honestly took him longer (after editing) to finish it up than just typing away slowly.

Poor guy.

And as for those who proposed finishing the job with clubs and sharp pointy things...Ari has got to have one of the most extensive collections of swords, axes and the like that I've ever seen, as well as a very feisty young woman that you'd have to get through first.

My odds are *definitely* on her in that confrontation, let me tell ya. ;)

I used to be a hunt-and-pecker. Then I got to the point where I knew where all the keys were and no longer had to hunt for them. So now I'm...just a pecker. :)

Seriously, though, I am a self-taught typist. I still only use my two index fingers when typing (and occasionally a thumb for hitting the "shift" key when capitalizing), but I'm faster than most "normal" typists I know.

And when my index fingers get tired, I can switch to my middle fingers without too much loss in speed.

Get better soon, Mouseferatu!

Heh. I know that style: The owner of a private school around here, a man in his early seventies, uses it, too - and quite well, at that. It's very amazing to watch a man of his age type that fast, let me tell ya! (I'm faster than him, though - but other than him, I grew up with computers.) My father uses it, too, come to think of it, but he's not as fast...

As for normal typists: Most people aren't that fast, yeah... :D (Even most professionals aren't that fast - at least by my standards. :o )
Myself, I'm only partly self-taught; I also had classes for a year (obligatory in one of the schools I went to - not that I minded... ). Before these classes, I didn't use all of my fingers, either, I believe.
