[OT] Need a name for our new dog

Godiva! and LMNOP sounds like a greek name, doesn't it? but Buttercup, monkey? wouldn't that just confuse the dog?

"This is my dog, Monkey."
"What's a dog-monkey?"

:D

Puddles

Is it because she leaves them or likes to play in them?

edit: I need to add "winner of the name the dog thread" to my sig.:D

I like Freya, actually, though till she's housebroken and had her obedience training you may occasionally be calling her Hel !

Since you asked for suggestions:
Agatha
Arwen
Bait (will eventually require a second dog named Switch)
Finster
Maxine

to continue the family's Celtic naming conventions, what about:
Dogda

--Rack
(companion to dog Mingus aka Mangy, Gub, Dumba**; cat Elmo aka Elminster, Elmet, Eeeevil One; and cat Hobie aka Hobart, Beanie, Blockhead)

Lady Freya Winnifried Baxtor-Thornburg the Fourth, High Enchantress of Chigol-Thereon could be a good name

or maybe

'Dog'

i honestly would have to go with piratecat or p-kitty, just to cool to pass up for a dog.

but bigby also sounds like a black lab. then you could have bigby the retreiving dog :D

if it helps churn the creative juices, here are our pet names-

cats: bruce wayne, taska, smaug, tux, cool face, chip, harriet the spy, sam(sam-a-rama), aunt cat

dogs: riley, penny pretty, arlo.

and we have several box turtles but only one has a name, grace.

A picture is too much to ask for?

:)

I'd recommend any clever name, but something you can say in public, and certainly don't name your dog "Sit" or "Stay."

How about Gygax?
