You're absolutely right - it's silly and there's no point.

However, I get a day off from the office - and *that's* worth celebrating. ;)

It's time to be with loved one's and that's one of the things that life is all about - I like the fact that everyone will have the time free, so we can see our loved ones.

Testify, brother!

Every year on January 1st, my husband & I spend the day doing something boring--we go through our filing cabinet and pull out all of our old cancelled checks, tax returns, etc. and shred them. It has become something of a tradition for us.

When we're done, we get drunk.:D

New Years Eve is like many things, it is what you make it. Personally, I've been invited to a party featureing friends and new people. I'm going to enjoy it and be happy, becasue frankly it's better then the alternative. So, be merry and enjoy it, complaining never solves a thing and only serves to bring you down. :D

Darn Wulf my whole screen just turned white because of my snorting laugh
Note to self: No more eating late night oliebollen* while reading ENworld

*Oliebol [tm] dutch New Year treat which is in all it's simplicity just a rather gross ball of deepfried dough covered with powdered sugar. Very unhealthy, very tasty :D
Translation: Olie-bol = Oil-ball :)

Very good guestion.

Never understood it ethier...one year Snr2 of Highschool was special becuase I was with my girl. Now, however, it's just a day when me and the mates get together in a hotel and drink while remember good times we have had...

...ages run pretty young, though we have all been through a bit...
