The Google Directory has a list of prehistoric mammal sites under the science/earth sciences/paleontology section. Some specialize in specific periods. Most sites have art of their own, or feature art from somewhere else.

Be sure to get permission before using any of the art.

National Geographic has an article on mammalian evolution in the April issue. I haven't visited their site, but they may have additional information on the subject there.
