[OT] Peter Jackson Snubbed

First Post
The Oscar nominations came out this AM, and were broadcast live on the Today show. The Lord of The Rings (Two Towers) was nominated for best picture, but Jackson wasn't nominated for Best Director, nor were any of the cast for actor/actress or supporting.

Thoughts?

Snubbed? Not at all. I think the movie got what it deserves.

I'm even a TEENY bit hesitent that it got Best Picture too... but not that much. Like I said, I think the movie got what it deserves.

I think Fellowship of the Ring had a better shot at all of those -- it demonstrated better acting, directing, etc. I didn't expect Two Towers to get nearly as many nominations as Fellowship did, and I expected it to win even less as well.

I second that. I watched FotR countless times on my comp; TTT I've only watched half time. Just not as good.

Jaded, you are jaded I say! :)

I will agree that it was not as good as, it still should have more nominations, were is costume, FX, screenplay, music!

Return of the King is going to be the big winner. It will be definitely nominated for Best Picture and Director and it will probably win them both. I can picture Viggo getting a nom as well.

I have to agree that FotR was more enjoyable to me than TTT.

Who cares about the Oscars or any other awards. It is a bunch of elitest left coasters slapping each other on the back.

What the hell is wrong with the west coast? Are you really calling someone else an elistist when bashing an entire coast at the same time?

In my opinion, these are not films that allow for a best actor/actress or supporting roles for either. There are too many people involved for anyone to stand out.

However, I think it should get Director, FX, Editing, and Score nods. I worry, however, that the third movie will do even worse than this year.
