If Peter Jackson wins next year, it won't be for RotK. It'll be for the trilogy of films.

I doubt there is such a category (Best Film Trilogy).

No there's not, but if Jackson gets the award, it'll really be for the body of work, not for the 3rd film. That's what I'm saying.

"Body of work"? That sounds like the Lifetime Achievement Award. Has Peter Jackson reached the pinnacle of his filmmaking career?

Yes, LotR will be the diamond of PJ's career. There really is nowhere to go but down after doing the greatest fantasy movie of all time based on the greatest fantasy book of all time.

If he tops LotR, hats off. Not that he still won't put out decent movies, but LotR has made him a household name.

I didn't see much talk about PJ until he did LotR, on this board or any other for that matter.

Like we're going to talk about other directors like Martin Scorsese.

But until Scorsese does a fantasy or science fiction film, we probably won't talk about him. And don't talk to me about his latest movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
