Well she was raised in the situation since she was 13. I think we can agree that 17 years of any situation other than brutal torture will eventually become normal to a human being.

Just to shed some more light on the subject, that wife did testify on her husband's behalf during the trial. It was one of the reasons he got 5-life, which was the lightest sentence permissable by law.

Yeah, but I would not expect anything different.

When I was that age and getting the crap beatin out of me regularly by my mother and her boyfriends- I would most likely have defended them in any legal situation.

From my experience - a lot of children in abusive situations are like that. They may not like their situation, but change is much scarier then what they are currently facing.
